Omega-3 egg has many benefits and support a healthy lifestyle. Omega-3 egg is expected to be a product that can help to fulfill healthy living. This research was aimed to indentify the performance and analysis of unit cost for production of omega-3 egg from Arab and Lohmann hens. This research was used thirty two Arab hens (20 weeks old) and thirty two Lohmann hens (45 weeks old) that were observed for six weeks. Hens were placed in the individual cage dan colony cage. Commercial feed which added by 5% of omega-3 was used in this experiment. The observed variables were feed consumption, hen day production, egg weight, feed conversion ratio and unit cost (analysis of production cost and break even point). Data were analyzed by T-test. The result showed that there was significant diference between feed consumption, hen day production, egg weight, and feed conversion ratio of Arab and Lohmann hens (P<0 .05="" arab="" cost="" egg="" eggs="" hens.="" hens="" less="" lohmann="" o:p="" of="" omega-3="" production="" than="" the="" was="">
production on all hens in this experiment less than Break Even Point (BEP), so it needs better management to optimize egg production.

Efisiensi Biaya Produksi Telur Omega-3 Ayam Arab dan Ayam Ras.

Telur omega-3 memiliki banyak manfaat dan menunjang pola hidup sehat. Telur omega-3 diharapkan menjadi produk yang dapat membantu pemenuhan hidup sehat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi performa ayam Arab dan ayam Ras serta menganalisa unit cost produksi telur omega-3 ayam Arab dan ayam Ras. Penelitian ini menggunakan 32 ekor ayam Arab berumur 20 minggu dan 32 ekor ayam Ras berumur 45 minggu yang diteliti selama 6 minggu. Ayam ini dipelihara di kandang cage individu dan koloni. Pakan yang digunakan adalah pakan komersial yang ditambahkan 5% suplemen omega-3. Variabel yang diamati yaitu konsumsi pakan, hen day production, bobot telur, konversi pakan dan unit cost (analisa biaya produksi dan nilai Break Even Point). Data dianalisa menggunakan uji t. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang nyata antara konsumsi pakan, hen day production, bobot telur dan konversi pakan pada ayam Arab dan ayam Ras (P<0 .05="" arab="" ayam="" biaya="" dibandingkan="" i="" kedua="" lebih="" omega-3="" produksi="" ras.="" rendah="" telur="">strain
yang diteliti dibawah nilai Break Even Point (BEP) produk sehingga manajemen pemeliharaan perlu dioptimalkan.
