Comparison of Simmental, Limousin and Fries Holstein Spermatozoa

The
purpose of this research was to study and to compare the freezability of
Simmental, Limousin and Fries Holstein (FH) frozen semen from Lembang
Artificial Insemination Centre, Bandung, West Java. In total 24 bulls were used
in this study consist of 8 Simmental, 8 Limousin and 8 FH, ages 4 years old
with a weight of 800-900 kg. Secondary data were taken from the period of November
to December 2010. The data was collected from raw semen, before freezing, post
thawing motility and longevity. The results showed that spermatozoa motility of
raw and before freezing semen from Simmental significantly higher (P<0 and="" bull.="" but="" difference="" fh="" limousin="" no="" than="" there="" were="">0,05) between
post thawing motility, longevity and value of recovery rate among three breeds.
