DIAH NUGRAHANI PRISTIHADI. Enhancement of Broiler
Performance by Methionine as Feed Additive. Supervised by WASMEN MANALU and
ANDRIYANTO.
Methionine is a safe, economic, and high quality
feed additive. A study on the effect of methionine supplementation on broiler
chicken performance was conducted by using 30 broiler chickens. Broiler
chickens were assigned into 3 groups: P1 (control, without methionine
supplementation), P2 (0.2% methionine supplementation), and P3 (0.4% methionine
supplementation). Parameters measured were growth rate, final body weight, feed
efficiency (feed convertion ratio/FCR), and mortality rate. The result showed
that 0.4% methionine supplementation significantly increased growth rate, final
body weight, and feed efficiency (P<0 .05="" 0.2="" 0.4="" 21="" 7-21="" a="" additive="" affected="" after="" age.="" age="" and="" as="" between="" broiler="" by="" chicken="" concluded="" days="" dose="" effect="" feed="" final="" growth="" however="" in="" increased="" is="" it="" methionine="" no="" not="" o:p="" of="" performance="" rate="" recommended="" showed="" supplementation="" that="" usage="" was="" weight="" were="" with="">0>
