Teat Based on Quarter Position and the Effect on the Somatic Cell Counts.

Callosity is the a thickened area of the skin as a
result of continous pressure to protect the skin form trauma. Assessment of
callosity was used to evaluate each quarter of the teats. The purpose of this
study was evaluate teats condition according to the callosity. The callosity
was analyzed to find out its relationship with somatic cells count. About 348
sample quarter were obtained from 87 dairies which were in normal lactation.
The method used in the assessment of teat was the assesment of callosity method
by Neijenhuis et al. (2000), while somatic cell were counted lusing breed
method. Right back quartire have rough ring and very rough ring condition found
