Process of Civet’s Arabica Coffee (Coffea arabica L.) at Kalisat Jampit
Plantation PTPN XII Bondowoso, East Java.

Coffee is one of crop
plantation which had contributed US $ 1 036 671 for Indonesia in 2011.
Indonesia has many kind of coffee product, and one of them is civet coffee.
Good integration is nedeed from upstream cultivation of plants to downstream
market to develop civet coffee potency. Studies that have been done by author
in Kalisat Jampit Plantation, PTPN XII in four months started in April until
August 2015. Production process of civet Arabica coffee showed that civets are
nocturnal animals which 79% active at night. The mean weight of coffee for
feeding is 673.5 g/civet/day, meanwhile the mean of time is required for civet
excrete feces are 1-2 hours from first time giving the feed. The civet’s sex
and the civet activity weren’t significally affect the amount of production of
civet coffee. The result of data analysis using t-student test showed, that
both civet coffee’s rendement and coffee’s rendement weren’t significally
different at the test level 5% .
