THE EFFECT OF FERMENTED PALM
KERNEL CAKE WITH SOME PROBIOTICS BACTERIA ON THE GROWTH OF BROILER CHICKS
Abstract
The aim of this research was
to study the effect of fermented palm kernel cake with some probiotics bacteria
on the growth of broiler chicks. The research was conducted at the Laboratory
and housing farm in Faculty of Animal Science Jambi University, from September
17, 2015 to October 22, 2016. One hundred sixty DOC, fermented palm kernel cake
with probiotics bacteria were used in this study. The parameters measured were
feed intake, body weight gain and feed conversion ratio. The experimental
design was used completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5
replications. The treatments are P0= diet without fermented palm kernel cake
with probiotics, P1= diet containing 20% fermented palm kernel cake with
Streptococcus thermophillus, P2= diet containing 20% fermented palm kernel cake
with Bacillus cereus, P3= diet containing 20% fermented palm kernel cake with
Lactobacillus bulgaricus. Data were analyzed used analysis of variance, if
there is a significant effect of treatment then continued with Duncan test. The
results showed that fermented palm kernel cake with probiotics bacteria
significantly (P<0 .05="" and="" body="" but="" conversion="" effect="" feed="" gain="" intake="" no="" on="" p1="" ratio="" signifficant="" treatment="" weight="">0.05).
In conclusion, 20% fermented palm kernel cake with Bacillus cereus and
Lactobacillus bulgaricus can be used on broiler feed without prevented the
growth. 0>
