The Effect of Herbal Cattle Against Cholesterol and Blood Profile in Arabic Chicken (Gallus turcicus)

This study used Arab layer chickens. Medicinal composition consists of kencur, garlic, ginger, galangal, turmeric, curcuma, green betel leaf, and cinnamon with added molasses and EM4. The treatment in this study consisted of A0 (Provision of drinking water without the addition of herbal medicine), A1 (A0 is added to herbal medicine as many as 10 ml/ chicken, dissolved into drinking water as much as 15 ml/ day), A2 (30 ml herbal medicine/ chicken dissolved into drinking water as much as 15 ml/ day), A20 (were added 20 ml/ chicken dissolved into the drinking water of 15 ml/ day), and A30 (A0 is added to herbal medicine as many as 30 ml/ chicken, dissolved into drinking water as much as 15 ml/ day). Herbal medicine was consecutively given during three days in a week. The experimental design used was Randomized Block Design (RBD) were analyzed using ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) with two groups of four treatments. The variables measured were total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides, and blood profiles. The result showed that the addition of herbal medicine into drinking water in level 0 ml, 10 ml, 20 ml, and 30 ml did not affect the reduction of cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL, and the value of erythrocyte, hematocrit, hemoglobin, and leukocyte of Arab chicken.
